Why?
To close the plant nutrient cycle and grow food sustainably we need to turn waste to fertilizer in the home, without side-effect, and add it to edible plants grown in vertical spaces. A micro-farm in every apartment!

Optimal Earthworm Feed Mix app
A user-friendly, excel app used to optimize the composition of a waste mix (backyard waste, food waste, etc), without inflating the mixture volume.

It uses a porous 2-cell system and a moisture gradient to auto-separate earthworms. This streamlines waste processing through earthworms.

The Electric Earthworm Separator (prototype)
An application of Chaoui and Keener, 2008 (Biosystems Engineering). At low AC voltages (4-5V) 50% of earthworms separate in less than 2 minutes. This could streamline earthworm harvesting in commercial operations.

Suspended Garden
Sub-irrigated modular plant containers that fit in a suspended vertical structure. These allow using vertical spaces in residences and offices to co-produce food.
